How to Submit Your Sitemap to Bing Webmaster Tools

Overview

Submitting your sitemap to Bing Webmaster Tools helps Bing understand the structure of your website and discover new or updated content. Your PhotoBiz website automatically generates a sitemap as you make changes, so you do not need to create one manually.

In this guide, you will learn how to verify your website with Bing and submit your sitemap so Bing can crawl and index your pages more efficiently.

STEP ONE

Log into or create your Bing Webmaster Tools account. 

Open a new browser tab and go to Bing Webmaster Tools.

If you already have an account, log in. If not, follow the prompts to add your website.

Choose the option to add your site manually and enter your domain name.

STEP TWO

Verify your website using a meta tag. 

Select the HTML Meta Tag Verification option inside Bing Webmaster Tools.

Copy the meta tag provided by Bing.

Log into your PhotoBiz account and navigate to the tracking or SEO section where you can paste the meta tag.

Paste the meta tag exactly as provided and save your changes.

Return to Bing Webmaster Tools and complete the verification process.

You will see a confirmation message once your site is verified.

STEP THREE

Submit Your Sitemap To Bing Webmaster Tools

After you've verified your domain, click on SITEMAPS in the menu on the left-hand side of your Bing control panel.

STEP FOUR

Click on the Submit Sitemap button.

STEP FIVE

Type in your website sitemap address, which will be https//www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml and click on the submit button.

You'll also be able to see when you submitted your sitemap and the last time that Bing crawled it.
