How to Enable or Upload a Watermark in PhotoBiz Client Galleries

Overview

PhotoBiz Client Galleries allows you to display a watermark over gallery images to help discourage unauthorized screenshots, copying, and sharing. You can use the default © watermark or upload a custom watermark featuring your logo, business name, or copyright information.

This guide explains how to enable watermark visibility, adjust its transparency and display location, and upload a custom watermark. You will also learn how global watermark settings work with individual Client Gallery events.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and select CLIENT GALLERIES from the left-side menu.

This opens the Client Galleries Dashboard, where you can manage your events, images, activity, designs, and account-wide settings.

STEP TWO

Click SETTINGS at the top of the Client Galleries Dashboard.

This opens the global settings for your Client Galleries account. The watermark design and visibility settings you choose here are used across your Client Gallery events when watermarking is enabled.

STEP THREE

Locate the WATERMARK VISIBILITY section below the Image Protection settings.

Use the Transparency Level menu to control how visible the watermark appears over your images. A lower percentage makes the watermark lighter, while a higher percentage makes it more visible. Selecting 0% makes the watermark invisible without deleting your custom watermark file.

Choose whether the watermark appears on the large image view only or on both the large image view and the gallery grid. By default, PhotoBiz displays a 50% transparent © watermark on large image previews.

STEP FOUR

To replace the default © watermark with your own design, select ADD FILES or drag and drop your watermark file into the upload area.

For the best results, upload a PNG file with a transparent background that is 3000 pixels wide by 1730 tall to cover the entire image canvas. Your custom watermark replaces the default © watermark wherever watermarking is enabled.

FINAL STEP

Select SAVE CHANGES to apply your watermark settings.

Your watermark will appear on Client Gallery images according to the transparency level and display location you selected. There is no separate publish step. Selecting SAVE CHANGES applies the update.

Watermark Display Options

You can customize how prominently your watermark appears in Client Galleries.

  • Transparency Level: Controls the visibility of the watermark. Lower percentages make it more transparent, while higher percentages make it more opaque.
  • Large image view only: Displays the watermark when a visitor opens an individual image at a larger size.
  • Large image view and grid view: Displays the watermark on both individual image previews and the image thumbnails shown throughout the gallery.

Choose a setting that keeps your branding or copyright information visible without making it difficult for clients to review their images.

Recommended Custom Watermark Size

For the best placement and display control, create your watermark using these specifications:

  • 3000 pixels wide by 1730 pixels tall
  • PNG file format
  • Transparent background

A smaller transparent PNG can also be uploaded, but it will be centered automatically. Using a full-size 3000 × 1730 canvas gives you greater control over where the watermark appears.

Controlling Watermark Placement

PhotoBiz centers your uploaded watermark by default. To place a logo or copyright notice in a specific area of the image, create a 3000 × 1730 transparent PNG.

Leave most of the canvas transparent, and position your logo or text where you want it to display. For example, place your logo near the bottom-right corner of the canvas if you want it to appear near the bottom-right corner of your gallery images.

Upload the completed PNG as your custom watermark and select SAVE CHANGES.

Watermarks and Downloaded Images

Watermarks are displayed while visitors view images inside a Client Gallery. They are not applied to image files that customers download from the gallery.

Watermark settings are intended to protect the gallery viewing experience. Review your download settings separately if you need to control which files visitors can download and whether downloads are free or paid.

Event-Level Watermark Settings

The settings in the Client Galleries Dashboard control the watermark design and how it appears. You can also turn watermarking on or off for an individual Client Gallery event.

This allows you to use the same global watermark design while deciding which events should display it. Changes to an event’s watermark setting do not remove or replace the custom watermark saved in your global settings.

For additional instructions, see How to Turn Watermarks On or Off for an Individual Client Gallery Event.

Watermarks and Image Protection

Watermarks and Image Protection are separate Client Galleries features.

A watermark places visible copyright information or branding over your images. Image Protection controls how images are displayed and helps discourage visitors from saving, copying, printing, or capturing a complete unprotected image.

You can use both features together for additional protection. However, no online image protection method can completely prevent someone from taking a screenshot or photographing a screen.

See How To Control Image Protection Settings for complete instructions.
