How to Add Google Analytics to Client Galleries

Overview

You can add Google Analytics to PhotoBiz Client Galleries to collect general traffic and visitor data for your gallery events. Google Analytics can help you understand overall traffic patterns, but it does not identify individual gallery visitors or track PhotoBiz Client Galleries Activity.

If you want to see who has accessed a Client Gallery event, Email Collection is the better tool. PhotoBiz Client Galleries Activity separately tracks actions such as favorites, comments, and downloads.

This guide explains how to add your Google Analytics tracking code to PhotoBiz Client Galleries.

Please Note: PhotoBiz is not affiliated with Google. Our Support Team can show you where to add your Google Analytics tracking code in your PhotoBiz account. For questions about Google Analytics reports, settings, or functionality, visit Google Analytics Help.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, you will need:

  • A Google Analytics account
  • Your Google tag or tracking code from Google Analytics
  • Access to PhotoBiz Client Galleries

If you need help creating or locating your Google Analytics tracking code, refer to Google's current Google Analytics documentation.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click CLIENT GALLERIES in the left-side menu.

This opens the Client Galleries Dashboard, where you can manage your gallery events and Client Galleries settings.

STEP TWO

Click DESIGN at the top of the Client Galleries Dashboard.

This opens the design settings for your Client Galleries.

STEP THREE

Click CSS/JS in your Client Galleries Design settings.

This section allows you to add custom code and tracking code to your Client Galleries.

FINAL STEP

Paste your Google Analytics tracking code into the CSS section, then click SAVE CHANGES.

Your tracking code is now added to your Client Galleries. Google Analytics can begin collecting supported traffic data when visitors access your gallery events. Keep in mind that new data may not appear immediately in your Google Analytics reports.

Choosing the Right Client Galleries Tracking Option

Google Analytics, Email Collection, and Client Galleries Activity provide different types of information.

  • Google Analytics: Provides general traffic and visitor analytics for your Client Galleries.
  • Email Collection: Helps you identify who has accessed a Client Gallery event by requiring visitors to enter their email address. This also can be used for email automations.
  • Client Galleries Activity: Shows supported actions clients take within a gallery, such as favorites, comments, and downloads.

You do not need Google Analytics to use Email Collection or Client Galleries Activity.

If your goal is to see who has accessed an event, see How to Enable Email Collection for Existing Client Gallery Events.

To learn more about reviewing activity within a gallery, see How Can I View Client Galleries Activity?.

Additional Options and Helpful Notes

  • Google Analytics is optional. Your Client Galleries will continue to work normally without it.
  • Use the complete Google Analytics tracking code provided by Google.
  • Google Analytics does not affect Email Collection or Client Galleries Activity.
  • Google Analytics reporting, settings, and troubleshooting are managed through your Google account.
  • PhotoBiz Support can help you locate where to add your tracking code but cannot configure or troubleshoot your Google Analytics account.
  • If you also want to add Google Analytics to your main PhotoBiz website, see How to Add Google Analytics to PhotoBiz.
  • For help understanding Google Analytics reports and terminology, see Understanding Google Analytics and How to Use It.
