Overview
Meta Pixel is a tracking tool from Meta that can collect information about activity on your website for Facebook and Instagram advertising. It can be used for ad reporting, audience building, retargeting, and conversion tracking.
To use Meta Pixel with your PhotoBiz website, you will first obtain the Pixel base code from Meta and then add that code to the global tracking area of your PhotoBiz Website Builder.
This guide explains where to add the Meta Pixel base code, how page-level tracking can be used when Meta specifically requires it, and how to verify your installation using Meta’s tools.
Before you begin, you will need:
If you have not created a Meta Pixel yet, visit Meta Business Help for current setup instructions.
Meta Pixel is a third-party service provided by Meta. PhotoBiz is not affiliated with Meta and does not provide support for Meta Pixel configuration, Meta Events Manager, Facebook or Instagram advertising, conversion tracking, audiences, campaign setup, attribution, or advertising performance.
PhotoBiz Support can help you locate the areas of your PhotoBiz Website Builder where third-party tracking code can be added.
For help creating, configuring, testing, or troubleshooting your Meta Pixel or events, refer to Meta Business Help or work with your advertising provider.
Obtain the Meta Pixel base code from Meta.
Use Meta’s instructions to create or locate your Meta Pixel and choose the option to manually install the code on a website. Meta will provide a Pixel base code that contains your unique Pixel ID.
Copy the complete Pixel base code exactly as Meta provides it.
The Pixel base code is different from event code. The base code is designed to load throughout your website, while event code may be used to track specific actions.
For current setup instructions, see Get Started With Meta Pixel.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.
This opens your Website Builder, where you can manage your website pages, design settings, SEO, and tracking options.
Click TRACKING at the top of the Website Builder.
This opens the global tracking settings for your website.
Paste the complete Meta Pixel base code provided by Meta into the HEAD section.
If you already have tracking code in this section, paste the Meta Pixel base code above or below the existing code without removing the other tracking scripts.
Adding the Pixel base code to the global HEAD section allows it to load throughout your PhotoBiz website.
Scroll to the bottom of the tracking section and click SAVE CHANGES.
Your tracking code is applied to your website automatically. There is no separate publishing step.
Use Meta’s tools to confirm that Meta is detecting activity from your Pixel installation.
Return to Meta Events Manager and use the testing or diagnostic tools provided by Meta. You may need to visit your website after installing the code so Meta can detect activity.
Meta also provides tools such as Test Events and the Meta Pixel Helper browser extension for troubleshooting.
If Meta shows activity from your website, Meta is detecting activity from the Pixel installation. PhotoBiz does not have access to your Meta account and cannot verify how Meta receives, processes, or reports Pixel data.
Meta may provide additional event code for tracking specific actions, such as leads, purchases, registrations, or other conversions.
Event code is separate from the Meta Pixel base code. Your Pixel base code should remain installed in the global HEAD tracking section.
If Meta specifically instructs you to place additional tracking code on an individual webpage, you can use the page-level tracking settings in your PhotoBiz Website Builder.
To access page-level tracking, click the page you want to edit, click SEO, and locate the Advanced Tracking section. Add the code to the appropriate tracking field based on Meta’s instructions, then click Save Changes.
PhotoBiz does not determine which Meta events you should use, where an event should fire, or how an event should be configured. Follow Meta’s instructions or work with your advertising provider when setting up events.
See How To Add Advanced Tracking To Pages for complete instructions.
Global Website Tracking is the appropriate location for code that needs to load throughout your website, including the Meta Pixel base code.
Page-level tracking is intended for third-party code that should only load on a specific page.
Page-level tracking may be useful when a third-party provider specifically instructs you to add code to:
Do not move your Meta Pixel base code from global tracking to an individual page unless Meta specifically instructs you to do so.
Meta Pixel can provide Meta with information about how visitors interact with your website.
Depending on how your Meta advertising account is configured, this information may be used for:
The availability and behavior of these features are controlled by Meta.
Adding Meta Pixel or other third-party tracking technologies may affect your website’s privacy, cookie, or consent requirements.
You are responsible for determining which privacy notices, cookie disclosures, consent tools, or other requirements apply to your business and website visitors.
PhotoBiz cannot provide legal advice about privacy or data collection requirements. If you are unsure about your obligations, consult an appropriate legal or privacy professional.
Always copy tracking code directly from Meta or another trusted source. Do not modify the Pixel code unless Meta specifically instructs you to do so.
If Meta provides both Pixel base code and event code, keep them separate. The base code belongs in global tracking, while additional event code should only be added according to Meta’s instructions.
If Meta does not detect your Pixel, use Meta Events Manager, Test Events, or Meta Pixel Helper to troubleshoot the installation.
PhotoBiz Support can help you locate the tracking areas in your Website Builder, but cannot troubleshoot Meta Pixel behavior, events, ad campaigns, or reporting inside Meta.
