How to Change Your Banner Slideshow Speed in PhotoBiz

Overview

You can control how quickly images rotate automatically in a Banner Block using the Slideshow Speed setting in the PhotoBiz Website Builder. This setting determines how many seconds each image remains visible before the banner advances to the next image.

The Auto Play and Slideshow Speed settings appear for every Banner Block layout. However, Slideshow Speed only affects a Banner Block when it contains at least two images and Auto Play is set to Yes. This guide explains how to enable automatic playback, adjust the slideshow speed, and save your changes.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure the Banner Block contains at least two images. A Banner Block with only one image cannot rotate through a slideshow.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.

This opens the Website Builder, where you can manage your website pages and content blocks.

STEP TWO

Select the page that contains the Banner Block you want to update.

The page editor will open and display the blocks currently added to that page.

STEP THREE

Click the Banner Block you want to update.

You can also click the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of the Banner Block and select Advanced. The Banner Block editing panel will open on the right side of your screen.

STEP FOUR

Click STYLING in the Banner Block editing panel and locate the Auto Play and Slideshow Speed settings.

Set Auto Play to Yes to make the banner images advance automatically. If Auto Play is set to No, visitors must manually move through the banner images, and the Slideshow Speed setting will not apply.

Use the Slideshow Speed slider to select how many seconds each image remains visible before the next image appears. You can set the slideshow speed from 1 to 10 seconds.

A lower number makes the banner advance more quickly. A higher number keeps each image visible longer.

When you change the slideshow speed, an X Customized indicator will appear. Click the X next to the setting to remove your custom selection and return to the template default.

FINAL STEP

Click Save Changes to apply the updated settings to your Banner Block.

Your changes will apply to your website automatically. There is no separate publish button.

Additional Options and Helpful Notes

A Banner Block can contain up to 50 images. You do not need to use the full image limit. A smaller, carefully selected group of images can help keep the slideshow focused and reduce the amount of content visitors need to review.

For the best visitor experience:

  • Choose a slower speed when banner images contain text, buttons, or important information.
  • Choose a faster speed when the slides contain simple images that require less viewing time.
  • Give visitors enough time to read any text and select a call-to-action button before the banner advances.
  • Properly size and optimize images before uploading them.
  • Preview the Banner Block on desktop and mobile devices after changing the speed.

The Slideshow Speed setting controls how long each image remains visible during automatic playback. It does not change the transition animation or control how quickly visitors can manually move between images.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Why is my Banner Block not advancing automatically?

Confirm that the Banner Block contains at least two images and that Auto Play is set to Yes. A banner with only one image cannot rotate, and a banner with Auto Play set to No must be advanced manually by the visitor.

Why does changing Slideshow Speed have no effect?

Make sure Auto Play is set to Yes and the Banner Block contains at least two images. Slideshow Speed does not apply when Auto Play is set to No or when only one image has been uploaded.

Why does my Banner Block advance too quickly?

Increase the number of seconds under Slideshow Speed. Banner images that contain text or call-to-action buttons may need to remain visible longer than image-only slides.

Why does my Banner Block advance too slowly?

Decrease the number of seconds under Slideshow Speed. Preview the banner after changing the setting to confirm that visitors still have enough time to view each image.

Why did the slideshow speed return to its previous setting?

Make sure you clicked Save Changes before leaving the STYLING section. Unsaved changes may be removed when you close the editing panel or navigate to another page.
