How to Change the Layout of a List Block

Overview

The List Block in the PhotoBiz Website Builder lets you display images, text, and videos using a variety of visual layouts. You can change the layout at any time without rebuilding the block or re-entering your content.

You can quickly switch between layouts directly from the List Block or open the full layout settings to browse all available options. This guide walks you through both methods and explains the different List Block layouts available in PhotoBiz.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.

This opens the PhotoBiz Website Builder, where you can manage your website pages and content.

STEP TWO

Click the page that contains the List Block you want to update.

Locate the List Block on the page so you can access its layout controls.

STEP THREE

You can change the List Block layout in two ways.

Option One: Quickly Change the Layout

The current layout name appears in the upper-right area of the List Block with left and right arrows. Click either arrow to move through the available layouts and see how your existing content looks in each design.

Each layout change is applied automatically when you use the arrows, so you do not need to open the List Block settings or click a Save button.

This is the quickest way to compare different layouts while you are designing your page.

Option Two: Open the Layout Settings

If you want to browse the available layouts in the right-side panel, click the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of the List Block. Then click CHANGE LAYOUT from the menu that appears.

FINAL STEP

If you opened CHANGE LAYOUT, browse the available layouts in the right-side panel and click the Save button under the layout you want to apply.

The selected layout will appear in the Website Builder using the images, text, and videos already added to your List Block.

To review how the updated layout appears on your website, click VIEW SITE at the top of the Website Builder.

List Block Layout Options

PhotoBiz includes more than 20 List Block layouts. The best option depends on the type of content you are displaying and how you want images, text, and videos to appear on the page.

Classic Layouts

Classic layouts provide image-focused designs with additional content that can appear with each List item.

Available options include:

  • Square
  • Portrait
  • Landscape

Editorial Layouts

Editorial layouts place greater emphasis on displaying text alongside or below your visual content.

Available options include:

  • Circle
  • Square
  • Landscape
  • Badges
  • Portrait

Modern Layouts

Modern layouts provide a streamlined presentation that keeps the item title prominent.

Available options include:

  • Square
  • Portrait
  • Landscape

Pinboard Layout

The Pinboard layout provides a visual, image-driven presentation for List items.

Image Left and Image Right Layouts

These layouts place the image on one side of the List item and the text on the other. The images are displayed without being cropped.

Available options include:

  • Small Left
  • Large Left
  • Small Right
  • Large Right

These layouts work well when you want more space for descriptions, services, team profiles, or other text-heavy content.

Additional Layouts

PhotoBiz also includes several specialized List Block designs:

  • Arches
  • Circle Overlay Top
  • Designer Portrait Title Overlay
  • Portrait Border
  • Image Border Text Bottom

Try different layouts to find the option that best matches your website design and the content in your List Block.

Story Panel Layouts

List Blocks also include Story Panel layouts:

  • Story Panel Square
  • Story Panel Portrait
  • Story Panel Landscape

Story Panels create a more immersive layout for combining images, text, and video into a visual story or scrolling experience.

Helpful Notes

  • Changing the layout does not delete or replace your existing List Block items.
  • You can switch between layouts as often as needed while designing your page.
  • Different layouts may display titles, descriptions, images, videos, and buttons differently.
  • Square, portrait, and landscape layouts can help you choose a design that better matches the orientation of your images.
  • After changing layouts, use VIEW SITE to review how the List Block looks with the rest of your live website.
  • You can further customize your selected layout using the Styling, Colors, Background, Fonts, and Animation settings in the List Block.
