How to Select Contacts for an Email Marketing Campaign in PhotoBiz

Overview

PhotoBiz Email Marketing is included with your Website Package and allows you to send up to 10,000 marketing emails per month at no additional cost. When sending a campaign, you can choose exactly who receives your email by selecting specific groups of contacts. This helps you target the right audience and improve engagement.

In this guide, you will learn how to choose your recipients using contact filters such as All Contacts, Type, Tag, or Custom selections. By the end, you will be able to confidently control who receives your email campaigns.

IMPORTANT NOTE

Contacts who have unsubscribed or whose email address has previously bounced will automatically be excluded from all email marketing campaigns. No additional action is required to remove them.

STEP ONE

Log into your PhotoBiz account and click on MARKETING in the left-side menu. This will open your Email Marketing dashboard.

STEP TWO

Click on the name of the email marketing campaign you want to send. This will open the campaign builder.

STEP THREE

In the upper-right corner of the campaign builder, click the SEND button. This opens the contact selection screen on the right side.

FINAL STEP

Choose the contacts you want to send your campaign to using the available selection options. After making your selections, click CONTINUE to move forward to the sending screen.

Contact Selection Options

You can choose who receives your email campaign using the following options:

ALL CONTACTS

Sends the campaign to every contact in your account
Includes contacts from forms, scheduler, orders, client galleries, and imported CSV files
Requires enough available emails in your monthly limit to complete the send

SELECT CONTACTS BY TYPE

Allows you to target contacts based on their category:
- Leads (submitted a form)
- Clients (made a purchase)
- Vendors (manually assigned or edited)
You can select one or multiple types

SELECT CONTACTS BY TAG

Sends to contacts that have specific tags applied
Useful for targeting segmented groups like sessions, interests, or campaigns
Tags are managed within your Contacts tool

SELECT CONTACTS CUSTOM

Lets you manually add individual recipients
You can:
- Search for an existing contact by name or email
- Enter a new email address not currently in your contacts

Excluding Contacts

You can also exclude specific contacts from your campaign:

No Exclusions: Sends to all selected recipients
By Type: Exclude Leads, Clients, or Vendors
By Tag: Exclude contacts with specific tags

Additional Notes

Contact types can be updated at any time within the Contacts tool
Tags are a powerful way to organize and target specific audiences
Combining inclusion and exclusion filters allows for highly targeted campaigns
