How to Disable Sharing in PhotoBiz Client Galleries

Overview

PhotoBiz Client Galleries lets you share private, password-protected image galleries with your customers. You can control whether customers see the built-in Share option for an event, individual images, and favorites.

This guide explains how to turn off sharing for a Client Galleries event. When sharing is disabled, the Share icon will not appear in the gallery interface, and gallery thumbnail images will not be included through the built-in sharing tools.

Disabling sharing also changes how favorites can be emailed. When sharing is enabled, customers can send their favorited images to the photographer and to family or friends by email. When sharing is disabled, favorites can only be sent directly back to the photographer.

Important Note:

Allowing sharing in Client Galleries may include a thumbnail image from your event gallery when the link is shared. Disabling sharing prevents that thumbnail from being shared through the built-in PhotoBiz sharing tools.

Disabling sharing removes the PhotoBiz Share option from the event. It does not prevent someone from manually copying the event URL from their browser and sending it by email, text message, social media, or another method.

If your event is password protected, anyone who receives a copied event link will still need the event password to view the gallery.

STEP ONE

Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click CLIENT GALLERIES in the left-side menu.

STEP TWO

Click EVENTS at the top center of the Client Galleries dashboard.

STEP THREE

Click the name of the event where you want to disable sharing. You can use the search bar to find an existing event if you have multiple events.

You can also create a new event and disable sharing in the event settings before sharing the gallery with your customer.

STEP FOUR

Click EVENT SETTINGS in the upper-right corner of your event.

FINAL STEP

Scroll down to the ALLOW SHARING option and select NO. Then click SAVE CHANGES at the bottom of the event settings.

After you save your changes, the Share icon will no longer appear in the large image view or the menu area of the Client Galleries event. Favorites can still be shared directly back to the photographer.

Additional Options or Helpful Notes

When ALLOW SHARING is set to NO, the built-in PhotoBiz sharing tools are removed from the Client Galleries event. Customers will not see the Share icon for Facebook, X/Twitter, Pinterest, or email sharing inside the gallery interface.

This setting also controls how favorites can be emailed. When ALLOW SHARING is set to YES, customers can email their favorited images to the photographer and to family or friends. When ALLOW SHARING is set to NO, favorites can only be emailed directly back to the photographer.

This setting applies to the individual event you are editing. If you want to disable sharing for multiple events, update the ALLOW SHARING option for each event separately.

You can turn sharing back on at any time by returning to EVENT SETTINGS, changing ALLOW SHARING to YES, and clicking SAVE CHANGES.

What Sharing Looks Like When Enabled

When ALLOW SHARING is set to YES, the Share icon can appear in the large view of individual images at the bottom of the screen. Customers can use this option to share a link back to the Client Galleries event image on Facebook, X/Twitter, Pinterest, or by email.

Sharing may also appear in the side menu. Customers can use this option to share a link to the Client Galleries event with family and friends through Facebook, X/Twitter, Pinterest, or by email.

When sharing is enabled, customers can also send their favorited images by email to the photographer and to family or friends.
