Overview
You can check the dimensions of any image uploaded to PhotoBiz Client Galleries directly from the image details screen. PhotoBiz displays the Actual Max Size, which shows the maximum pixel dimensions available for the Web Resolution High version of the image.
If you also need to know the image's file size in KB or MB, you can open the Web Resolution High version with VIEW FULL SIZE, save it to your computer, and review the saved file's information. This guide explains how to check both and how Original Resolution files differ from the web-sized version.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click CLIENT GALLERIES in the left-side menu.
This opens the Client Galleries Dashboard.
Click EVENTS at the top of the Client Galleries Dashboard.
The Events section displays the Client Gallery events currently stored in your account.
Click the EVENT NAME that contains the image you want to check.
Open the gallery that contains the image.
Click the thumbnail of the image you want to review.
The individual image screen displays a preview of the image along with its Filename and Actual Max Size. The Actual Max Size shows the maximum pixel dimensions available for the Web Resolution High version of that image.
For example, an image may display Actual Max Size: 2595 × 1730.
Review the Actual Max Size to check the maximum width and height of the Web Resolution High image in pixels.
If you also need to check the file size in KB or MB, click VIEW FULL SIZE. This opens the Web Resolution High version of the image. Save the image to your computer, then review the saved file's information to see its file size.
The image opened with VIEW FULL SIZE is the Web Resolution High version and is not the Original Resolution file.
Image dimensions and file size measure different things.
Saving the Web Resolution High image to your computer allows you to inspect its actual file size.
PhotoBiz creates web-sized image versions for displaying images through Client Galleries. The VIEW FULL SIZE option displays the Web Resolution High version of the image.
An Original Resolution file is different. When an Original Resolution file is stored with PhotoBiz, it is kept for downloading rather than for display on the website. Original files are not used as the full-size browser preview because they are not web-sized images.
Because of this, the Web Resolution High image may have different pixel dimensions and a different file size than the original file you uploaded.
When an Original Resolution file is available for an image, an OR tag appears in the upper-right corner of the image thumbnail in the Client Galleries control panel.
The OR tag indicates that the Original Resolution version of that image is stored with PhotoBiz and is available for download.
If the OR tag does not appear, an Original Resolution version is not currently available for that image.
After saving the image opened through VIEW FULL SIZE, you can check the file size using your computer's file information.
Remember that this checks the Web Resolution High file you saved from VIEW FULL SIZE. It does not provide the file size of an available Original Resolution version.
Why is the Original Resolution file larger than the image shown with VIEW FULL SIZE?
VIEW FULL SIZE displays the Web Resolution High version created for web use. An Original Resolution file is stored separately for downloading and may have larger pixel dimensions, a larger file size, or both.
Does Actual Max Size show the size of my original uploaded file?
No. Actual Max Size shows the maximum pixel dimensions available for the Web Resolution High version in Client Galleries. It should not be used to determine the dimensions of a separately stored Original Resolution file.
Why don't I see an Original Resolution tag on an image?
The Original Resolution tag only appears when an Original Resolution version is stored and available for download for that image. If an image does not have the tag, it was either uploaded prior to purchasing original files or the file was 4mb or smaller when it was uploaded.
Can I check the file size in MB directly inside Client Galleries?
The individual image screen displays the Actual Max Size in pixels. To check the file size of the Web Resolution High version in KB or MB, click VIEW FULL SIZE, save the image to your computer, and review the saved file's information.
