How to Add or Adjust Watermarks in Client Galleries

Overview

PhotoBiz Client Galleries allow you to display a watermark over gallery images to help protect your work while clients view an event. You can use the default PhotoBiz copyright watermark or upload your own custom PNG watermark.

You can also control the watermark opacity and choose whether it appears only when an image is enlarged or in both the Grid view and Large image view. This guide explains how to update your Client Galleries watermark settings and what happens when clients download an image.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have access to Client Galleries in your PhotoBiz account.

To use a custom watermark, prepare a PNG file with maximum dimensions of 3000 pixels wide by 1730 pixels high.

STEP ONE

This opens the Client Galleries Dashboard, where you can manage events, images, orders, and gallery settings.

STEP TWO

Click SETTINGS at the top center of the Client Galleries Dashboard.

The Settings section includes the controls used to manage how watermarks appear on images displayed in your Client Galleries.

STEP THREE

Locate the Watermark Settings and use the Watermark Visibility dropdown menu to select the watermark opacity.

You can select an opacity from 0% to 100% in 5% increments. Select 0% to turn the watermark off completely. Select 100% to display the watermark at its strongest intensity.

Next, choose where the watermark will appear by selecting either Large image view only or Large image view and Grid view.

FINAL STEP

To replace the included copyright watermark, upload your PNG file in the custom watermark section.

If you do not upload a custom watermark, PhotoBiz will use the default copyright watermark. Your custom watermark can be up to 3000 pixels wide by 1730 pixels high. These dimensions allow the watermark design to cover the full image canvas used for Client Galleries event images.

Click Save Changes after you finish updating the settings. Your selected watermark, opacity, and display location will then be applied when visitors view images in your Client Galleries.

Watermark Visibility Options

The Watermark Visibility setting controls how strongly the watermark appears over your gallery images.

0%: Turns the watermark off
5% through 95%: Displays the watermark at the selected level of transparency
100%: Displays the watermark at its strongest intensity

A lower percentage creates a more subtle watermark. A higher percentage makes the watermark more prominent.

Watermark Display Locations

You can choose where clients will see the watermark:

Large image view only: The watermark appears when a client opens or enlarges an image.
Large image view and Grid view: The watermark appears on gallery thumbnails in the Grid view and on enlarged images in the Large image view.

Choose the option that provides the level of image protection and gallery presentation you prefer.

Custom Watermark Requirements

Custom watermarks must meet the following requirements:

The file must use the PNG format.
The maximum dimensions are 3000 pixels wide by 1730 pixels high.
Uploading a custom watermark replaces the default PhotoBiz copyright watermark.

A PNG with a transparent background generally allows the watermark design to appear over the gallery image without displaying a solid rectangular background.

Important Information About Downloaded Images

Client Galleries watermark settings only affect images while they are displayed inside the gallery. The watermark is not added to files that clients download.

To include a watermark on a downloaded image, you must apply the watermark directly to the image file before uploading it to your PhotoBiz account.

Keep an unwatermarked copy of the original image before adding a permanent watermark if you may need the original file later.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Why is the default copyright watermark still showing?

The default copyright watermark appears when no custom watermark has been uploaded. Upload a PNG file in the custom watermark section and click Save Changes to replace it.

Why is my watermark not visible?

Confirm that Watermark Visibility is set above 0%. A 0% setting turns the watermark off completely.

You should also confirm that you are viewing the image in the location selected under Display watermark in.

Why is the watermark missing from a downloaded image?

Watermarks added through Client Galleries only appear while images are displayed in the gallery. They are not applied to downloaded files.

You must add the watermark to the image itself before uploading it if you want the downloaded version to include the watermark.

Why does my custom watermark not cover the full image?

Review the dimensions of the uploaded PNG. A custom watermark can be up to 3000 pixels wide by 1730 pixels high, which allows it to cover the full Client Galleries image canvas.
