Overview
You can add an external link to your PhotoBiz website navigation when you want visitors to access another website directly from your menu. This is helpful for linking to social media profiles, online booking calendars, Google Business Profile listings, review pages, directories, client portals, or other third-party websites.
External links can appear as main menu items in your website navigation, or they can be nested under another page to appear inside a dropdown menu. This guide walks you through how to add an external link, choose its visibility, and place it where you want it to appear in your website menu.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.
This will open your Website Builder, where you can manage your website pages, navigation, and page settings.
Make sure you are in the BUILDER section of your Website control panel.
Click the NEW PAGE button at the top left of your pages list. In the menu that opens, click LINK.
A Link does not create a new website page. It creates a clickable navigation item that sends visitors to another website, social profile, booking page, or third-party platform.
The right-side panel will open where you can enter the details for your new link.
Enter the Navigation Name you want visitors to see in your website menu. For example, you may use a name like Instagram, Book Now, Google Reviews, Client Portal, or Shop Prints.
Choose the Page Visibility setting for the link. Select Visible if you want the link to appear in your website navigation. Select Hidden if you want the link saved in your account but not shown in your menu. Select Disabled if you do not want the link active.
Under Link To, select External Link from the dropdown menu. Then paste the full URL for the website you want visitors to open when they click the menu item.
Click Save Changes to add the external link to your website navigation.
After saving your link, click and drag it in your pages list to choose where it appears in your website navigation.
Leave the link aligned with your main website pages if you want it to appear as a main navigation menu item. To place it inside a dropdown menu, drag the link under another page so it becomes nested beneath that page.
Once saved, the link will appear in your website navigation based on its placement and visibility setting.
External links are commonly used for:
When adding an external link, make sure the URL is complete and starts with https:// or http://. This helps ensure the link opens correctly for visitors.
You can update, hide, disable, delete, or reorder an external link at any time from your Website Builder pages list.
You can also use the LINK option to create an anchor link that sends visitors to a specific block on one of your PhotoBiz website pages.
This is different from an external link. For an anchor link, choose Page under Link To instead of External Link. Then use the Choose a Block dropdown to select the block you want visitors to land on.
Anchor links can also appear as main navigation items or be nested inside a dropdown menu.
For full instructions, see How to Use a Menu Link to Link to a Specific Block in a Page.
Why is my external link not showing in my website menu?
Check the link’s Page Visibility setting. The link must be set to Visible to appear in your website navigation.
Can I add an external link inside a dropdown menu?
Yes. After saving the link, drag it under another page in your pages list. This nests the link beneath that page and displays it as part of a dropdown menu.
Can I make an external link a main navigation item?
Yes. Keep the link aligned with your main website pages in the pages list. This places it as a top-level menu item in your website navigation.
Does an external link create a new page on my website?
No. A Link creates a navigation item that sends visitors to a URL outside of your PhotoBiz website. It does not create a new page in the Website Builder.
Can I change the link later?
Yes. You can open the link from your Website Builder pages list and update the navigation name, visibility, or external URL at any time.
