How to Display Blog Posts by Tag on Your PhotoBiz Website

Overview

The PhotoBiz Website Builder includes a Blog Block that allows you to display published blog posts on different pages of your website. By using blog tags, you can organize your posts by topic and choose which posts appear in each Blog Block.

For example, if you're a wedding and engagement photographer, you can create an Engagements page that displays blog posts featuring engagement photography sessions without including unrelated wedding posts.

This guide walks you through adding a Blog Block to a website page, selecting which blog tags to display, and customizing how those posts appear to your visitors. As you publish new posts with matching tags, they can automatically appear on your page.

Prerequisites

Before getting started, you'll need at least one published blog post with a tag assigned to it. If you haven't created a post yet, see How to Publish a Blog Post in PhotoBiz

STEP ONE

Log into your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.

This opens the Website Builder, where you can manage your website pages and content blocks.

STEP TWO

Click the name of the website page where you want to display your tagged blog posts.

You can use an existing page or create a new page dedicated to a specific photography service or topic.

For this example, we're using an Engagements page on a wedding and engagement photographer's website. We'll configure a Blog Block to display blog posts featuring engagement photography sessions.

STEP THREE

Add a BLOG block to your page by clicking BLOG in the available blocks menu or dragging it to your preferred location.

The SELECT BLOG BLOCK panel will open with the following options:

Blank: Start with a blank Blog Block that you can customize.
Blog 1 – Blog 7: Choose from seven predesigned layouts with different arrangements for displaying your blog posts.

Click SELECT below the layout you want to use. The Blog Block editor will open so you can configure which posts appear on your page.

If your page already contains a Blog Block, click the existing block to open its settings instead.

STEP FOUR

After adding your Blog Block, the EDIT BLOG panel will open with the POSTS settings displayed.

Under CHOOSE THE POSTS TO DISPLAY ON THIS BLOCK, you can select one of the following options:

Display All of your posts: Displays all published blog posts.
Display all posts tagged with: Allows you to choose specific blog tags to control which posts appear.

Select Display all posts tagged with: to open the tag selection dropdown.

Click the dropdown to view your existing blog tags, then click the tag you want to use. You can select as many tags as you'd like for your Blog Block.

For this example, we'll select the Engagements tag so our Engagements page displays blog posts related to engagement photography.

Using Multiple Tags

If you select multiple tags, the Blog Block will display published posts that match any of your selected tags.

For example, selecting Engagements and Wedding Planning will display posts tagged with Engagements, Wedding Planning, or both. A post does not need to contain every selected tag to appear.

FINAL STEP

After selecting your blog tags, customize how your posts appear using the remaining settings in the POSTS section.

Under SORT POSTS BY, select one of the following options:

Most Recent: Displays your newest published blog posts first.
Most Popular: Sorts posts based on popularity.

Under DISPLAY PUBLISH DATE, select:

Yes: Displays the publishing date for each blog post.
No: Hides the publishing date.

Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your settings.

Your Blog Block will now display published blog posts that match your selected tags. New posts published with those tags can automatically appear in the block based on your sorting and layout settings.

To review the result, click VIEW SITE at the top of the Website Builder.

What Your Clients See

Visitors to your website will see published blog posts that match the tags you've selected for the Blog Block.

In our example, visitors to the Engagements page can browse featured engagement photography sessions and click individual blog posts to read more and view additional images.

Depending on your Blog Block layout, visitors may see cover images, post titles, excerpts, publishing dates, and links to the complete blog posts.

As you publish new engagement photography posts with the Engagements tag, those posts can automatically appear on this page without manually adding them to the Blog Block.

Only published posts are displayed. Draft posts or posts scheduled for a future publishing date will not appear until they are published.

Helpful Notes

Tags Organize Posts, Not Website Pages

Creating a blog tag does not automatically create a website page. To feature posts about a particular topic, add a Blog Block to the page where you want those posts to appear and select the appropriate tags.

Using Multiple Blog Blocks

You can add multiple Blog Blocks throughout your website and configure each one independently.

For example, your main Blog page could display all published posts, while separate Weddings and Engagements pages display posts matching their respective tags.

A blog post can have multiple tags and appear in different Blog Blocks without needing to duplicate the original post.

Displaying Additional Blog Posts

The number of posts initially displayed depends on your Blog Block layout and its row and column settings.

If you have more matching posts than the layout initially displays, you can configure the LAST ITEM option to provide a Load More link so visitors can browse additional posts.

Changing Your Blog Block Settings

You can update your selected tags, sorting options, or Blog Block layout at any time.

These changes only affect how posts appear within that Blog Block. They do not modify or delete your original blog posts.

Troubleshooting

Why aren't my tagged blog posts appearing?

Open the BLOG section of your PhotoBiz account and confirm that your posts are published and have the correct tags assigned.

Next, return to your Website Builder and review the tags selected under CHOOSE THE POSTS TO DISPLAY ON THIS BLOCK.

If no published posts match your selected tags, the Blog Block will not have matching content to display.

Why aren't all my matching blog posts visible?

Check the Blog Block's layout settings to see how many rows and columns are configured to display.

If you have more matching posts than the layout initially shows, you can adjust those settings or configure the LAST ITEM option to let visitors load additional posts.

Can I change which tags appear later?

Yes. Open your Blog Block's POSTS settings, update your selected tags, and click SAVE CHANGES.

Your Blog Block will update to display published posts matching your new selections without changing the original posts.
