Overview
Alt text, short for alternative text, is a short written description of an image. It helps visitors who use screen readers understand what an image shows and gives search engines more context about your blog content.
PhotoBiz makes it easy to add or edit alt text for images in your blog posts. You can write alt text manually or use Ask PhotoBiz AI to generate it for you. If you create a new blog post using the PhotoBiz AI Blog Post Creator, alt text is automatically created for the images you upload during the creation wizard.
This guide walks you through how to add or edit alt text for blog images after a blog post has been created.
When you use the PhotoBiz AI Blog Post Creator to create a new blog post, the images you upload during the creation wizard will automatically receive AI-generated alt text.
You can still review and edit that alt text after the blog post is created. This is helpful if you want to make the description more specific, adjust wording for your brand, or improve the SEO value of the image description.
Log in to your PhotoBiz account and click BLOG in the left-side menu.
This opens your Blog dashboard, where you can create new blog posts, search existing posts, and manage published or draft blog content.
Open the blog post you want to update.
You can click an existing blog post from your list, or use the search bar to find a specific post by title or keyword. If you are creating a new blog post manually, click Create New Blog Post and add your blog content before editing the image alt text.
Find the image block that contains the photo you want to update.
Click the image block to open its settings. You can also click the pencil icon in the top-right corner of the block and select Advanced.
A settings menu will appear on the right side of the screen.
Click the image thumbnail you want to update. This opens the image settings for that specific image, including the alt text field.
Add or update the image alt text.
In the Alt Text field, you can type your own clear description of the image or click Ask PhotoBiz AI to have PhotoBiz generate alt text for you.
When writing alt text manually, describe what is shown in the image in a simple, natural way. For example, instead of writing “photo session,” you could write “Family of four smiling together during an outdoor fall portrait session.”
When you are finished, click Save Changes to apply your update. Your blog image will now include the alt text you added or edited.
You can use either manual alt text or Ask PhotoBiz AI depending on your preference.
Manual alt text works well when you want full control over the wording. Ask PhotoBiz AI is helpful when you want a quick starting point or need help describing an image clearly.
Good alt text should be:
Avoid stuffing keywords into alt text. Search engines and visitors benefit more from accurate descriptions than repeated SEO terms.
A PhotoBiz AI Request is used when Ask PhotoBiz AI generates content for you inside your account.
Each account includes 100 AI Requests per month at no extra cost. Your request count resets automatically on the 1st of each month.
Using Ask PhotoBiz AI to generate alt text for a blog image counts as an AI Request. If you need more than 100 requests in a month, you can purchase additional requests from your control panel.
