How do I add Google Analytics tracking to my website?

Setting Up Google Analytics on Your PhotoBiz Website

Google Analytics is a free tool that helps you understand how visitors interact with your website. By integrating it with your PhotoBiz site, you can track how users find your site, what pages they view, and how your content performs. This information helps you improve your site and enhance your online presence.

You can also connect Google Analytics with Google Search Console for more insights into how your site appears and performs in Google search results.

Need Help?

Prefer to have our Search Engine Optimization Experts handle the setup for you? Setup is included in our SEO Go service.

Important Note:

PhotoBiz is not affiliated with Google. We can show you how to install the tracking code on your website, but for questions about Google Analytics itself, please visit Google Analytics Help.

ADDING GOOGLE ANALYTICS TRACKING

Once you sign up for Google Analytics, Google will provide you with a Global Site Tag which is your tracking code. You will copy the code from Google Analytics and paste it into the Head of your site.

STEP ONE

Log in to your Google Analytics account and click on the ADMIN tab.

STEP TWO

In the top-left corner, click on the + Create option and select Account.

STEP THREE

Enter the Account Name you want to use for your Google Analytics profile.

STEP FOUR

Add your Property Details, including:

  • Property Name
  • Reporting Time Zone
  • Currency

STEP FIVE

Add your Business Details, including:

  • Industry Category
  • Business Size

STEP SIX

Choose your Business Objectives by selecting any of the following:

  • Generate leads
  • Drive sales
  • Understand web and/or app traffic
  • View user engagement and retention
  • Other business objectives

Click Create once you've made your selections.

STEP SEVEN

Begin setting up your data stream by selecting the Web option.

STEP EIGHT

Enter your domain details:

  • Be sure https:// is selected.

  • Enter the full www.yourdomain.com in the Website URL field.

  • Create a Stream Name (this is an internal label for your own reference).

STEP NINE

Google will generate your Global Site Tag (tracking code). Click the Copy icon to copy your tracking code.

STEP TEN

Log into your PhotoBiz account and open the Website Builder from the left-hand menu.

STEP ELEVEN

Click on Tracking at the top-center of your website control panel.

STEP TWELVE

Paste your Google Analytics code into the Head section. Then click Save Changes at the bottom to apply the update.

Important: If you have any other tracking code installed in this section, you can place this code outside (above or below) the existing code and it will work without any trouble.

STEP THIRTEEN

Verify Your Installation:

Return to your Google Analytics dashboard and click Test Installation in the upper-right corner.

If installed correctly, you'll see the message: "Your Google tag was correctly detected on your website."

The Test Installation button will update to Confirm — click it.

You'll then see your stream settings. Click the X at the top left to close the settings.

Click Next, then Continue to Home to finish.

What's Next

Once Google Analytics is installed, you’ll be able to log in and view visitor activity such as:

  • How many people visit your site
  • What pages they view
  • How they interact with your PhotoBiz website
