How to Switch from iTransact to Stripe in PhotoBiz

Overview

If your PhotoBiz account is currently using iTransact as your Merchant provider, you will need to switch to Stripe before October 31, 2026, to continue accepting payments.

This guide walks you through how to connect your Stripe account and safely remove iTransact from your account. You can connect Stripe before removing iTransact, so there is no interruption to your ability to accept payments.

By the end of this guide, your Stripe account will be active and ready to process payments across your website, Client Galleries, Scheduler, Invoices, Forms, and ECommerce.

After October 31, 2026, iTransact will no longer process payments with PhotoBiz. If you have not switched by that date, you will not be able to accept payments until a new merchant is connected.

Before You Start

Before making the switch, make sure you:

  • Have access to your PhotoBiz account
  • Are ready to create or log into a Stripe account

STEP ONE

Log into your PhotoBiz account and click ECOMMERCE in the left-side menu.

STEP TWO

At the top of the control panel, hover over PAYMENT and select MERCHANTS from the dropdown.

STEP THREE

Click the New Merchant button.

Stripe is the default option. Click the green Connect to Stripe button to begin the setup process.

STEP FOUR

A new window will open for Stripe.

Log into your existing Stripe account or follow the prompts to create a new one. Enter your business details, bank account information, and complete any required verification steps.

Click Authorize access to this account to complete the connection.

STEP FIVE

After completing the Stripe connection, you will be returned to your PhotoBiz control panel.

Click the CONFIGURE NEW STRIPE ACCOUNT button, then confirm your Stripe account displays as Active: Yes. This means your account is ready to accept payments.

FINAL STEP

Locate your iTransact Merchant connection. Click the checkbox to select the merchant, then click the DELETE button to remove it from your account.

Once removed, all new payments will be processed through Stripe.

You’re All Set!

Your clients can now pay with their credit or debit card via your Stripe merchant during checkout.

Test Your Setup (Recommended)

After connecting Stripe, complete a test payment to confirm everything is working correctly.

You can do this by:

  • Sending yourself a small invoice
  • Booking a test Scheduler appointment
  • Purchasing a low-cost item from your website

This helps confirm your Stripe account is fully set up before removing iTransact.

What Happens to Existing Payments

  • Any payments already processed through iTransact will remain unchanged
  • You can still access past transactions and records
  • Only new payments will go through Stripe after the switch

PCI Compliance Certificate

PhotoBiz provides a PCI Compliance Certificate for your account.

To download your certificate:

  • Go to your Merchant settings
  • Click the PCI Certificate link

You can provide this certificate if a client, bank, or institution requests proof of compliance.

Where Stripe Can Be Used

Once connected, Stripe works across your entire PhotoBiz account, including:

  • Client Galleries
  • Scheduler bookings
  • Invoices
  • Forms
  • ECommerce

Important Notes About Stripe

PhotoBiz integrates with Stripe, but your Stripe account is managed separately.

  • Stripe handles all payment processing and payouts
  • Funds are deposited directly into your bank account through Stripe
  • Refunds must be issued from within your Stripe account

PhotoBiz cannot access:

  • Your Stripe login credentials
  • Full account settings
  • Credit card or sensitive payment details

You remain in full control of your Stripe account at all times.

Troubleshooting

Stripe Does Not Show as Active

  • Make sure you completed the full Stripe setup process
  • Confirm you clicked Authorize access to this account
  • Try reconnecting Stripe from the Merchants section

Payments Are Not Processing

  • Check that your Stripe account is fully verified
  • Confirm your bank account is connected in Stripe
  • Review any alerts or required actions inside your Stripe dashboard

Additional Notes

Stripe may require additional verification before your account becomes fully active. This can include identity or business verification and may take additional time depending on Stripe’s review process.
