How to Add and Customize a Divider Block in Your PhotoBiz Website Footer

Overview

PhotoBiz Website Builder allows you to add Divider Blocks to your website footer to create spacing, separate content, and enhance your website's design. You can choose from 32 layouts, including simple spacers, horizontal lines, and decorative designs featuring geometric shapes, flowers, and other graphics.

Divider Blocks are useful for organizing footer content such as navigation links, contact information, and copyright details. You can customize their appearance using layout, spacing, color, and background settings. You can also use a custom divider design to complement your branding.

This guide explains how to add, position, customize, and manage Divider Blocks in your PhotoBiz website footer.

STEP ONE

Log into your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu to open your Website Builder.

STEP TWO

Click FOOTER near the bottom of the left column in your Website Builder.

This opens the Footer editor, where you can add and manage the blocks that appear in your website footer.

STEP THREE

In the Footer editor, locate the DIVIDER option in the block menu on the right side of your screen.

You can add a Divider Block to your footer using either method:

  • Click DIVIDER: Adds the new Divider Block to the bottom of your existing footer content.

  • Drag DIVIDER: Click and drag the Divider Block from the menu into your preferred position in the footer.

Once added, you can click and drag the Divider Block to reposition it at any time.

STEP FOUR

Click your new Divider Block in the Footer editor to open the EDIT DIVIDER panel.

You can also access the editor by clicking the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of the block and selecting ADVANCED.

The editor opens to the DIVIDER settings, where you can adjust the options available for your selected layout.

Additional customization settings are available in the editor's side menu, including LAYOUT, COLORS, and BACKGROUND. The STYLING section is available for Line and supported decorative layouts.

FINAL STEPS

Customize your Divider Block using the available layout and design settings described below.

Click SAVE beneath a layout when selecting a new design. For other customization options, click SAVE CHANGES to apply your selections.

Your Divider Block will appear in your website footer based on its position and selected design. Changes take effect when saved.

Divider Layout Options

Click LAYOUT in the EDIT DIVIDER panel to choose how your Divider Block appears in your footer.

The Layout section displays your CURRENT LAYOUT at the top, followed by previews of the available designs.

Custom Divider Designs

If you want a more personalized design, PhotoBiz also supports custom dividers for both regular website Divider Blocks and Footer Divider Blocks.

Custom dividers allow you to incorporate decorative graphics, branding elements, or other designs that complement your website.

For instructions, see How to Upload a Custom Divider in PhotoBiz.

Divider Settings

Click DIVIDER in the EDIT DIVIDER panel to customize the settings for your selected layout.

The available options depend on the Divider Block design you're using.

Spacer Layout

The Spacer layout includes a CHOOSE THICKNESS setting that controls the amount of empty vertical space between footer blocks.

Available thickness options include:

  • Ultra Thin

  • Thin

  • Medium

  • Thick

Select your preferred thickness and click SAVE CHANGES.

Line Layout

The Line layout includes two customization settings:

  • Choose Thickness: Controls the thickness of the visible line. Options include Ultra Thin, Thin, Medium, and Thick.

  • Choose Length: Controls how far the line extends horizontally. Options include Short, Medium, Long, and Flushed.

The Flushed option extends the divider across the available width.

Select your preferred options and click SAVE CHANGES.

Decorative Divider Layouts

Decorative layouts, such as Diamond Trio Line, include a CHOOSE LENGTH setting that controls the horizontal size of the divider design.

Unlike the basic Line layout, the Diamond Trio Line design does not display a thickness setting.

Other decorative layouts may offer different customization options depending on the selected design.

Choose your preferred settings and click SAVE CHANGES.

Styling Options

Click STYLING to adjust the spacing around your Divider Block.

The Styling section is available for the Line layout and supported decorative divider designs. It does not appear for the Spacer layout.

Available settings include:

  • Space Below Blocks: Controls the amount of space between the Divider Block and the next footer block.

  • Space Inside Blocks: Controls the space inside the Divider Block, including the spacing above and below the divider.

These settings help you adjust how the divider fits between other footer elements.

Select your preferred spacing options and click SAVE CHANGES.

COLORS

Click COLORS in the EDIT DIVIDER panel to customize your Divider Block's colors independently from your website's global color settings.

The available color options include:

  • Line Color: Controls the color of the visible line or decorative graphic in your selected divider layout. This option is available for Line and decorative divider layouts.

  • Background Color: Controls the background color of the Divider Block.

Click the color box next to the setting you want to change. You can select one of your website's accent colors or choose a custom color.

Click OK to confirm your color selection, then click SAVE CHANGES to apply it.

Helpful Note: A CUSTOMIZED label appears next to a color setting when you've applied a custom color instead of the default website color. This helps you identify which colors have been customized specifically for your Divider Block.

Note: The Line Color setting does not appear when using the Spacer layout because it does not display a visible line or graphic.

Background

Click BACKGROUND to customize the background of your Divider Block.

You can upload your own background image or select a design from PhotoBiz's Background Library.

Available background display options include:

  • Tile: Repeats the background image.

  • Top Left: Positions the background image in the upper-left corner.

  • Centered: Centers the background image.

  • Cover: Scales the background image to cover the available area.

You can also use a solid background color instead of an image.

Click SAVE CHANGES to apply your background settings.

For additional instructions, see How to Change a Block Background in PhotoBiz.

Managing Your Footer Divider Block

You can manage an existing Divider Block using the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of the block in your Footer editor.

Click the pencil icon to access the following options:

  • Copy: Creates a copy of the Divider Block.

  • Advanced: Opens the full Divider Block editor, where you can customize its layout and design settings.

  • Delete: Removes the Divider Block from your footer.

You can also click directly on the Divider Block to open its editor or click and drag the block to reposition it among other footer elements.

Deleting a Footer Divider Block

To delete a Divider Block, click the pencil icon in the upper-right corner of the block and select DELETE.

A DELETE BLOCK confirmation panel will appear, warning that the block and its contents will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Click YES, DELETE IT to permanently remove the Divider Block from your footer, or click CANCEL to keep it.

Important: Deleting a Divider Block cannot be undone. Make sure you've selected the correct block before confirming the deletion.

What Your Website Visitors See

Your Divider Block appears in your website footer based on its position, selected layout, and customization settings.

  • Spacer Layout: Creates empty space between footer elements without displaying a visible divider.

  • Line Layout: Displays a horizontal line separating footer content. Its appearance depends on your selected thickness, length, color, and spacing settings.

  • Decorative Layouts: Display the selected decorative design, such as diamonds, floral graphics, or other shapes, to visually separate footer elements.

  • Custom Dividers: Display your selected custom divider design.

Because your website footer is shared across your website pages, changes to its Divider Blocks appear wherever the footer is displayed.

After saving your changes, preview your website on desktop and mobile devices to make sure your footer spacing and divider designs look the way you want.

Helpful Notes

  • You can add multiple Divider Blocks to your footer to separate different sections of content.

  • Click a Divider Block to open its editor, or use the pencil icon and select ADVANCED.

  • Divider Blocks can be repositioned by clicking and dragging them above or below other footer blocks.

  • Use Spacer layouts when you want additional space without a visible line.

  • Decorative and custom divider designs can complement your website's branding.

  • The available customization settings depend on the selected divider layout.

  • Divider Blocks do not include animation settings.

  • Footer changes take effect when saved. You do not need to publish your website separately.
