Overview
You may want to rebuild an existing website page without taking the live page offline while you work. In PhotoBiz, you can do this by creating a new page, building the updated version, and then assigning the original page URL to the new page when you are ready to switch.
This guide explains how to replace an existing live page with a newly built version while keeping the same website URL. This helps prevent broken links, 404 errors, and confusion for visitors who already have the original page link.
Log into your PhotoBiz account and click WEBSITE in the left-side menu.
This opens your Website Builder, where you can manage your website pages and content.
Create a new page for the updated version of your content.
You can use the PhotoBiz AI Page Creator, copy an existing page, or skip the creator and add a blank page. Build and edit this new page until it is ready to replace the current live page.
Keep your original live page active while you work so visitors can still access it while you build the replacement page.
If you need help creating or copying a page, review these guides:
When your new page is ready, open the original live page and click SETTINGS in the upper-right corner.
Update the Navigation Name so you can easily identify the old version, such as Home Old or Home Backup. Then set the page visibility to Disabled.
Next, review the page URL in the SEO settings. Change the URL on the original page to something temporary, such as adding -old or -backup to the end of the URL.
For example, if the original page URL is:
/home
You could change it to:
/home-old
This frees up the original URL so it can be used on your new page.
Open the new page you created and click SETTINGS in the upper-right corner.
Change the Navigation Name to match the original page name and set the page visibility to Visible.
Next, update the page URL in the SEO settings so it matches the original live page URL.
For example, if the new copied page is using:
/home-copy
Change it to:
/home
This allows the new version of the page to load at the same URL your visitors, search engines, and shared links already use.
Review the page on your live website to confirm the new version loads correctly at the original URL.
After confirming the new page is live, review any buttons, footer links, menu links, or other links on your website that previously pointed to the old page. Update those links using the Link to Page option so they connect to the new page inside your Website Builder.
This step is important because links connected to the original page may still reference the old page internally, even if the URL was reused.
Once everything looks correct, you can delete the old page or keep it temporarily as a backup using its updated URL.
Your visitors should now see the updated page without needing a new link.
You can drag pages in the left-side Website Builder menu to change where they appear in your website navigation. This only changes the page’s position in the menu. It does not replace a live page or update the page URL.
If you only need to move existing content from one page to another, you can copy or move blocks instead. This is helpful when you want to reuse part of a page without rebuilding everything.
If you have buttons, footer links, or other custom links connected to the original page, update those links after switching the page URL. Use the Link to Page option when available instead of manually typing the URL.
If you are replacing an important page, it is a good idea to test the original URL in a private browser window after making the change.
